MUSIC INSPIRED ART
These lyrics are from City and Colours song 'Little Hell'. The photograph is my own work and was taken in South Africa. I chose this picture as i think it fits nicely with the lyrics. I tried to positioned the words on the photo in a way that enhances them further. I took the colour from the photo to reflect the words 'war' and 'delicate'. I feel it gives a more serious tone to the piece.
Carrying on with the music lyrics. This started off as an experiment, exploring how to create a fire effect in Photoshop. Im pleased with how it turned out. The inspiration came from 'Architect' a song by Rise Against.
Just a few more things i've been working on. I find lyrics very inspiring so why not use them in my work! I like to make simple designs but hopefully they create meaning to the audience. I know they mean a lot to me. Black, white and red are the main colours I use. Again because i like to keep things simple but i also think the colours are the most striking. We see the world in colour so black and white catches your eye more. Thats just my opinion anyway. Red i associate with romance or danger, so the words that are used give the meaning of the red.

My last module at college was typography, and one of the projects was to use song lyrics. As i enjoyed this project alot i continued to experiment with word hierarchy and its layout to song lyrics i liked. This lyric is by Rise Against and the song is called Satellite. This is my favourite of the experiments i did beacuse of its simplicity and i am a huge fan of music so the words have meaning to me.
This is something I did a while ago. Again it is music related. I find listening to music always helps me to create something. This was done in photshop, using shapes and then just changeing their opacity. Nothing complicated, but I find that simple ways can also provide great results.
I LOVED it!! Do you mind if i make the Architects lyrics one into a tattoo?
